The Press Club is a professional, social and charitable organization of people who make,
cover and influence the news.   "The mission of the Press Club of Metropolitan St. Louis is to serve as a
primary resource for journalism and communications industry. The Press Club
shall advance understanding of the mass communications discipline, promote
scholarship and professional excellence, facilitate communication between
mass communicators and their respective publics and promote awareness of
significant issues facing the mass communications field throughout the

Transportation reporters Ken Leiser and Elisa Crouch discuss how the Post marshaled resources to cover the highway shut-down, stay on top of MODOT activities and help readers navigate.


At the Press Club's May 30th forum, Elisa Crouch, St. Louis Post-Dispatch transportation reporter, shared insights into the newspaper's space and manpower commitment to informing St. Louisans about what to expect and ways to cope with the Highway 40 shutdowns.


Thirty Press Club members and guests attended the May 30th luncheon forum held at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch building in downtown St. Louis.


Ken Leiser, St. Louis Post-Dispatch transportation reporter, gave Press Club members and guests the background on the newspaper's extensive coverage of MODOTs demolition and contruction plan for Highway 40 resulting from the community's enormous concern about traffic and mobility issues during the shut-downs.
