a Writer Who Speaks"

Writers who know how to get out from behind a computer screen and speak can have great success marketing their articles and books -- and get paid in the process.  Learn how to make this lucrative leap from international expert Carol Weisman.  She'll share her secrets of how to get booked, how to produce a "one-sheet," the ins and outs of media, speaking training and coaching, and how to leverage sales.  This is an enjoyable opportunity for writers and communicators to relax, make contacts, and learn marketing techniques.

Weisman has won two Telly awards for her five-uear PBS satellite broadcast "Creating a Board with a Passion for Mission" and for the video "Speaking of Money" with Hugh Downs.  Her clients include Bank of America, Build-a-Bear Workshop, Susan G. Koman for the Cure and the Australian Day Care Association.

If you are a writer who would like to learn how to get paid to market your books and articles by speaking, Carol Weisman knows the ropes.  Carol will be speaking at a Press Club of Metropolitan Press Club seminar and cocktail party on July 19th at 5:30 p.m. at the Daniel Hotel, 216 N. Meramec in Clayton.

You will laugh as you learn how to get on the speaker's circuit to sell your publications.  Weisman has been on the speaking circuit since 1994 when she founded Board Builders.  She will share her secrets of how to get booked, how to produce a "one-sheet," the ins and outs of media, speaking training and coaching, and how to leverage your sales.

Weisman is the author of eight books.  Her most recent is "Raising Charitable Children".  She works primarily in the US, Canada, the UK and Australia. She specializes in fundraising, philanthropy and governance.  She is the only speaker on the circuit who has also done stand-up comedy.  She claims you can feed your audience 7,000 calories, 2 glasses of wine and she will still keep them awake for a good 30 minutes.  (No guarantees past 30 minutes!)

Her clients include the Bank of America, Build-A-Bear Workshop, Susan G. Koman for the Cure, the United Way of America, The Australian Day Care Association and the National Cattleman's Beef Association and many other organizations, large and small.

Weisman holds a CSP (Certified Speaking Professional), the highest earned designation of the National Speakers Association.  To earn this, a speaker has to speak for five years for a minimum of 50 times a year to not less than 100 different clients for a total of not less than $250,000.  She has won two Telly awards.  The first for her five year PBS satellite broadcast "Creating a Board with a Passion for Mission" and the other for her work with Hugh Downs in the video "Speaking of Money."

Every writer or communicator should take this fun.
The cost is $20 for Press Club members and
$22 for non-members.
